Award-Winning CA ERwin Data Modeler Captures More Than 30 Percent Market Share for Fourth Straight Time

NEW YORK, October 8, 2015— CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced it was again named  global market share leader for data modeling tools in a new IDC report,  “Worldwide Modeling and Architecture Tools Market Shares, 2014: Emerging Dominance of Enterprise Architecture.”*

Attributing the CA ERwin® Data Modeling tool, the report listed CA Technologies with a 30.6 percent share of the $111 million market in 2014, more than 12 percentage points higher than its closest competitor.  It is the fourth straight time that CA Technologies has led the IDC rankings for global data modeling market share.

In August CA ERwin was named “Best Data Modeling Solution” in the Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) magazine Readers’ Choice Awards for the second straight year. Earlier, CA Technologies was named to the prestigious DBTA 100 2015, honored as one of the 100 companies that matter most in data for the third year in a row.

CA ERwin helps organizations promote strong data governance and derive maximum value from their big data and business intelligence initiatives. A new CA ERwin r9.6 release announced in March added a redesigned interface, simplified reporting, performance improvements, new platform support, and ease-of-use enhancements designed to help companies leverage information as a strategic asset and more efficiently manage all data resources.

“The need for strong, holistic data management has never been greater, as organizations rush to make sense of big data and react quickly to market demands,” said Danny Sandwell, Product Marketing, CA ERwin Products, CA Technologies.  “CA ERwin continues to be far and away the leading solution to meet these critical business needs.”
